I would be interested in your opinion as to why paranormal, in our times, is more popular than spiritualism? There are strong waves of populism in the US and in Europe at the moment (the Netherlands just put a momentary stop to some negative aspects of this movement on March 15). I would say that paranormal, because it involves fear, is part of some negative aspects of populism that we see emerging in the US and in Europe at this point in time (but I might very well be wrong).
In the bigger scheme of things, in the perspective of the last century and a half (starting at the time of the Fox Sisters in the US for example), how do you see the growing place that paranormal TV shows are taking in our living rooms? As a society, why aren’t we doing séances in our living rooms instead of watching fake documentaries about “things that go BOOM in the night”? Is our Western society regressing spiritually? Are we just lazy? Are we afraid of digging into our soul?
