How to Ward off Negative Energy

Dodge negative people in your life and you can bypass their negative energy. It is not always possible to avoid those you work with or family members, but surrounding yourself with positive people is a good step to take.

Think positive thoughts. This can be challenging, but paying attention to how your mind works and changing your thought patterns to ones that are more positive can be life-changing. Instead of thinking about your failures, think about your accomplishments and make new goals for your future.

Be kind to everyone you meet. This includes the barista serving your coffee, your spouse and your co-workers. Being positive toward others will help you ward off negative energy.

Get your blood pumping. Exercise releases endorphins, and endorphins will make you feel better physically and mentally. If you are feeling the onset of negative energy, dissipate it with a jog, walk or yoga.

Set high standards for yourself. When you notice a trend of negativity, tell yourself that you deserve better, more positive ways of thinking and behaving.

Believe in yourself. If negative energy has debunked you in the past, ward it off by believing that it isn't here to stay. Tell yourself every day that you can accomplish whatever you set your mind to, and then make your dreams happen.
