Rose Garden of Stanley Park - Part 1: White and Red Roses
By:Sarah in Vancouver
Date: 17 July 2015

Here are some views of the Rose Garden of Stanley Park in Vancouver BC mid-June 2015 (Parts 1 to 5). I spoke to Jesse (photo at the bottom of the page), one of the rose gardeners who has been working here for 5 years. When I asked him why there are so many roses this year, more than I can remember having seen in the last 30 years, he said that one reason is that in the last 5 years, at least 70% of the rose bushes have been replaced with varieties that perform well in the Rose Garden. Another reason, Jesse said, is the fact that we have been having a lot of sun and not much rain this year. The result is really nice.
