The gardens are very well kept, a lovely place where to spend some time meditating, looking at San Diego in the far distance, or just visiting the monuments that honor soldiers. Here is my favorite spot:

This cactus is just below a monument to Sylvester Pattie "Pathfinder, Leader of the First Party of Americans into Alta California over Southern Trails. Arrived at San Diego Presidio March 27, 1828"
