Reiki (pronounced “ray-kee”) is a healing therapy that originated in Japan. By placing her hands on, or near, a person that needs healing, a Reiki practitioner believes that she can transmit chi (or life force energy) to that person, causing beneficial changes in his physical condition. Although most Reiki treatments resemble traditional massage, with the practitioner running her hands on, and over, the patient’s body, she does not have to be in the same room with the patient to effect healing. Rather, her intention can direct the energy just as surely and as swiftly as her hands can. Here is how you can perform Reiki on Distance Healing.
Choose a room in your house where you will not be disturbed for at least 30 minutes. Make sure the temperature in this room is comfortable, neither too hot or or too cold.
Choose a comfortable chair. This can either be a wing-backed chair, a padded recliner, or any other chair of your choice. Just make sure that it is a place where you can sit comfortably for an extended period of time.
Place one or two candles on a table in front of the chair. Put on a CD of soothing, meditative music. Light the candles.
Turn off any lamps or overhead lights. If you are performing this healing during the day, close the blinds or the curtains. Try to make the room as dark as possible, with the only light coming from the flickering candles' flames.
Sit in the chair, lean your head back, and close your eyes. Begin breathing slowly and deeply.
Think about the person that you want to heal. If this is someone you know, remember your past interactions with that person. Try to get a vivid mental picture of that person. If memories alone don’t help you to accomplish this, pick up a picture of that person and stare intently at the picture.
Bring your hands together. If you are holding a picture of the person, you may hold his picture between your hands. If not, hold your hands together in a prayer-like position.
Imagine that the person you want to heal is between your hands. “Beam” love and affection towards her. Imagine energy flowing from your hands to the person, completely healing him of his condition.
Continue projecting chi energy for about 15 or 20 minutes. When you are finished, shake your hands (they may feel numb or hot from all the chi that was flowing between them), extinguish the candles, and continue with your day. Practice this Reiki distance healing as often as you feel necessary.
