I just read the thread below about the intricacies of the human soul (being cruel vs loving animals) and, although unrelated to my topic, it made me want to ask this question that has been bothering me for decades: How to justify, from a soul perspective, animal suffering.
Animals must have chosen to come to earth (which is cruel to most of them) in order to learn, the same way humans do. Human adults have the faculty to think through their pain and extract wisdom from it either in the form of philosophy or art or magnanimity. Children don't think their way through pain to the same extent. And animal don't either. I can't stand animal suffering. Any word of wisdom out there?
